Essentially it is the 'nut
content' in the Lebkuchen that
determines the quality and the price of the Lebkuchen. The
higher the 'nut content', the better the quality and the higher the
price of the product.

We have maintained details from the 2007 season for you to
compare 2008 prices and contents with our offerings of the 2007
season. Keep in mind, item numbers will change, but usually the
major description of the products remain largely the same. For
example, the Festive Chest in 2007 had the item number 50407. In
2008, Lebkuchen-Schmidt simply changed the item number to 50408. The
contents are not necessary the same. Schmidt changes contents for
pricing and marketing reason and we are not privy to their
reasoning. All we can do is report what Lebkuchen-Schmidt
tells us as to the contents of the Festive Chest in 2008. We
sell exactly what Lebkuchen-Schmidt advertises and sells.
We have encountered the Lebkuchen-Schmidt in 2007 with a different
item number and different contents. Several importers buy the
product from Lebkuchen-Schmidt in Germany and have the contents
changed according to their own wishes. This is frequently done for
pricing reasons and you will receive either less in quantity or less
in weight.

our 2008 Festive Chest during the month of August and possibly
September for the same price as we did in 2007 even
though the exchange rate of the US Dollar to the EURO declined by
15%.
