We
received a number of queries from our customers who had
purchased the Festive Chest in prior years They were curious
about the fact that one of our competitors, who sold the
Festive Chest for $ 139.99 in 2006 was suddenly selling the
'same product' in 2007 for $ 99.99. Well, we purchased one
of these chests at retail from GermanDeli and there are indeed
differences.

Note: The
Lebkuchen-Schmidt Gift Box, was shipped "as is" - it was
not re-boxed. We box every Festive Chest in a
'shipping carton' in order that the Festive Chest box
does not get banged up during shipping and the recipient
will be able to give a 'clean' box for Christmas.
Ours arrived dirty and showed the normal shipping marks
that any carton will absorb during the shipping process.
This is also the way the Delaware shipment will arrive
at your door steps.

We
consider our price of $ 119.95 a 'fair price' for our product.
Our product is different
and is the same Festive Chest and pack that
Lebkuchen-Schmidt sells in Germany.
We purchased item # 50407 especially to avoid any conflict with
what Lebkuchen-Schmidt was selling in Germany and as described
in detail in the annual catalog. The box from our
competition clearly shows the item number to be "50417" and we
also have it available for $ 99.95.
We
offer both chests to you. Both chests have the same beautifully
embossed metal chest and only the content is different.
The choice is yours. We have provided as much information
as possible below. Some prices have been estimated by us,
simply because these items are not sold separately.
In
addition, we offer a free Christmas CD with our Festive Chest
and you may include a Christmas card with your wording if this
is desirable. Furthermore, we do not charge a separate 'handling charge' of $
5.00.
We have determined that the major
difference is in two item numbers. They are highlighted in
the spreadsheet in yellow. Both items are "Premium Elisen
Lebkuchen" with a nut content of at least 25%. Our Festive
Chest includes these two premium items while the pack we
purchased from GermanDeli did not. You make your
comparison and purchase the product that you feel fits your
needs. We can supply either product. The Premium
Chest - Item No. SM50407 with a promotional CD, ships from
Florida. The second chest, Item No. SM50417 (Special Pack)
ships directly to you from Delaware. A separate order for
Item No. SM50417 is required.
